Who can apply for the FIP Visa Greece?

Non- EU citizens having adequate resources at a level of steady annual income for the coverage of their living expenses may apply for a 3- year residence permit. Such individuals may be accompanied by members of their families to whom a personal residence permit is granted.

Eligibility Requirements- Sufficient Income

The condition for sufficient income must exist either for each member of the family or jointly for all members. The minimum income requirement is set at 3.500 Euros per month. This is increased by 20%, if the spouse is included in the application, and 15% for each child included in the application. The amount is proved by a pension decision, bank account statements or any other documentary proof that the applicant has own sufficient income of legal origin to cover the expenses without being employed or exercise an independent economic activity in Greece.

Duration-Renewal Requirement

The residence permit is issued for 3 years and then it can be renewed. This type of residence permit in Greece does not allow access to the labour market.
There is a minimum stay requirement of 183 days per calendar year in Greece in order for the permit to be renewed.

Financially Independent Individual Visa Procedure

In order to acquire the staying permit, the following steps must be followed;

Step 1 – Obtain a VISA

The applicant obtains a National Visa D from the competent Greek embassy/consulate in the country of origin. The applicant should appear in person and be interviewed briefly in relation to the purpose of their application.

Step 2 – Application for the staying permit

Upon the arrival in Greece and until the expiration of the National Visa D, the applicant applies for the residence permit.
